Ryan and I had the opportunity to see a print of Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys last night. There is nothing quite like watching a film print of a movie. There is a grain or texture that just cannot be reproduced digitally. You know that you are watching something that was caused by a chemical reaction between light and the film, and that every time it is run through a projector, the quality deteriorates just a little bit more. Despite the best efforts to preserve these prints, they will one day loose all resemblance to what they once where.
The movie itself is pretty good. Brad Pitt gives a performance that is more amusing than compelling. Check it out on Nexflix if you have the opportunity.
If you live in the greater Orlando area and you have never been to the Enzian, it is a real treat. The theater is one of the only art house theaters left in the country and is unlike any cineplex you'll ever visit.
Here's a look at one of the coming attractions. This would have been an awesome joke, but as it turns out, it's a super awesome non-joke.
